First Meeting of 2021-22 Commissioners! 7 new members!
Being on the Youth Commission comes with a lot of responsibility and commitment to the group and the City at large. However, it's also an opportunity to bond with others and cultivate long-lasting memories. We have consolidated some of our best photos in the gallery to your left to give you a taste of what that has looked like over the years!

Current Projects!
Project 1: Policy Project
This is the Youth Commission’s first time undertaking a policy project!
This project is called “A Seat at the Table”, as the project aims to add one youth member to three of Walnut Creek’s city commissions. The subcommittee created a survey that was sent out to schools across Walnut Creek to gage an understanding of how involved youth felt in their community, and after extensive research, the youth commissioners presented to the individual commissions for feedback on the project. The project is now in its final stages and awaits presentation to Walnut Creek’s City Council in the coming months!
Project 2: Community Events
Information comming soon!
Project 3: Street Stories
"Street Stories." We wanted to connect our community through the memories, stories, or special connections you may have to the following city streets: Rudgear Road, Broadway, South Main Street, North Main Street, Civic Drive, Ygnacio Valley Road, Mt. Diablo Boulevard, Walker Avenue, and/or Cypress Street. The responses to this digital survey will be collected and added alongside local historical information the team has been researching to a website for Walnut Creek residents to read later this Spring. If you would like to add yourself to the history of our wonderful city, please consider filling out the "Street Stories" form, which can be accessed by a link below. Look to our "Street Stories" page for stories about the town you love!
